The Ijaw Association of Australia (IAA)
is a community-based organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Ijaw people in Australia. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all Ijaw individuals and families, fostering a sense of unity and belonging within the broader Australian society.
We offer various support services, including assistance for new immigrants, educational mentorship programs, and resources for families in need. We aim to provide a strong support network for our community members.

- The Association provides support to its members who are migrants and residents in
Australia. - It aims to promote better integration within the Australian society while
strengthening ethnic and cultural ties. - Foster co-operation, understanding, unity and fellowship among Ijaws and
Australians. - Promote and protect the well being of all Ijaws such as providing members
representation on issues that affect the Ijaw Community in Australia. - To foster communal co-existence with other groups in Australia.
- To promote and communicate Ijaw Heritage and culture.
- To help and support members when difficulties arise.
- To ensure Australians and Migrants of Ijaw heritage assess services that meet the
diverse needs of members in the Community.
