On Saturday, 20 September 2025, the Ijaw Community in Australia gathered in the beautiful city of Perth, Western Australia, for its Bi-Annual Ijaw Day Convention.
It was a day of reflection, celebration, and cultural pride, bringing together Ijaw families, leaders, friends, and partners from across Australia.
The event was honoured by the presence of Terry Healy, MLA for Southern River and Co-Convenor of the Parliamentary Friends of Africa in the Western Australia Parliament.
Also in attendance was a representative of the Acting Nigerian High Commissioner to Australia, Minister J. A. Horsefall.
